We want to thank you again for a most
memorable vacation. Everything was even
better the second time around. Pat, the magic
you create in the kitchen (oops galley) is truly
awesome. And, Mat thanks for taking us to some
of your favorites. See you this winter.

The saying "heaven can wait", well not so;
because we just spent 7 days there aboard the
NSS PATTAM. Pat and Mat you treated us like
family and also as if we were "royalty", such
ability is most rare. Mat we appreciated your
encyclopedia ability. Pat, what can we say---
this cruise should have been billed "floating 5
Star Cuisine". We came as strangers and left
knowing two multi-talented people filled with
charm, whom we hope will consider us friends.

My husband, 7 year old daughter and I had the
pleasure of spending time aboard NSS Pattam
in the U.S. and Spanish Virgin Islands with
Capts. Mat and Pat. They are both delightful
hosts and really know how to pull out all the
stops when they entertain. Pat’s meals were
always delicious and innovative and Mat was
an excellent grill master when called upon.
We had every confidence in their seamanship
as both proved to be very knowledgeable. They
are excellent activity directors, always having
great ideas for spending the day – whether it
was kayaking, diving, exploring at sea or on
shore or just lounging around. We all had a
fabulous time aboard NSS Pattam.
Cheers! Lisa

NSS Pattam Charters. Guest Comments

Our whole family had the time of our lives
cruising around the St. John and St. Thomas
area on the NSS PATTAM. It was such a
memorable adventure to check out a new
island almost everyday and explore a new town
or a tucked away, secluded beach. The kids
had so much fun snorkeling with the beautiful
fish and swimming in the crystal clear waters.
The meals that were served on board were
Caribbean lobster tails and filet mignons. We
are eagerly counting the days until our next
vacation aboard the NSS PATTAM.

Thank you. We had the most amazing time on
our trip. Pat and Matt are the best hosts. The
food was like you would find at the best
restaurants and at every meal. We gained 5
pounds each! We would definitely do another
charter but only with Pat and Matt! anyone
you recommend them to will not be
disappointed at all!
Kim
Mat and Pat were very gracious, the food was
wonderful and the boat was in excellent
condition. We are planning on going again
and for a longer stay.
It could not have been nicer.

Pat is the best gourmet

- Where do you go to complain about not being able to complain about
anything!!!
I have been a boater for forty years. Cruising on board the NSS Pattam
gave boating/cruising a whole new meaning. From the minute we landed
in St Thomas, we knew we were in the good hands of our hosts, Pat and
Mat Bockh. The ride they arranged was awaiting us at the airport to take
us to the Pattam which was neat as a pin and clean as a freshly bathed
baby. Awaiting us in our stateroom was goody bag with monogrammed
tee shirts, hats, a chart of the islands, and a waterproof camera. Nice
touch…just one of many.
On the al fresco deck was the first of many gourmet meals. I could go on
forever with the gourmet meals which included among others, sesame
tuna, sushi appetizers, rack of lamb, shrimp & lobster, grouper and my
personal requested favorite, beef wellington. Each meal Pat cooked was
served with flowered garnish, baked on board breads and flavored butters,
salad and homemade desserts (key lime pie, chocolate soufflé with
homemade ice cream chocolate ganache…you get the idea). Mat made
sure we ate like royalty on matching tablecloths, linen napkins, different
dishes every day and crystal glasses. No paper or plastic for the Pattam!
Mornings greeted us with fresh baked muffins and pastries and eggs. My
favorite light breakfast was a yogurt with fresh fruit and granola but the egg
soufflé took the breakfast of the cruise award. I can’t remember ever
having that many back to back gourmet meals in a row. And it was all
part of the cruise!
We were three couples with three staterooms, each of us with a king or
queen sized bed. The generator ran 24/7 but we never heard it, and our
stateroom was next to the engine room! This particular feature was costly
in that I now have to order a silencer for the generator on my boat. We
had plenty of water, hot water and a large shower to enjoy at the end of
the day. Towels were first class with the NSS Pattam monogram. Our
hosts thought of everything and provided us with new toothbrushes,
toothpaste, shampoo and soap, all in recognition of the fact that we
couldn’t fly with liquids.
During the day, we were given the run of the boat and the cove.
Although Mat offered to pull us in a tube or waterskis on the inflatable, we
all opted for the more docile kayaks, motorized floaty chair, rafts,
inflatable toys, and a mask and snorkel. Bottled waters, sodas, beer were
available all over the boat and at any time during the day. Our hosts were
always available to make sure we had everything we needed, to offer
suggestions on what to do and where to go or just offer us a drink. They
were first class. One of my friends remarked that they knew how to
entertain because they kept filling up the M&M container to make us not
feel like we were not slowly emptying the jar…which we were! One night I
let Pat kick my butt in scrabble while the girls watched a chick flick from
the book of movies and dvds they store on board.
Both Pat and Mat made operating the boat seem easy. They were a
team who not only owned and cared for their own boat, but cared equally
as much for the enjoyment of their guests. This was my 50th birthday
present to myself. My wife, my friends, and I, had a cruising experience
with Mat and Pat which could not be paralleled if we were on Paul Allen’s
415 footer! Each your heart out Mr. Allen!!!
Thank you so much for booking us aboard the NSS Pattam. Mat and Pat
are knowledgeable bright and personable and most of all, concerned for
the welfare of their guests. If I am gushing, I am. They deserve it!!! This
was the cruise and experience of a lifetime. Thanks again for your help.
We are picking a date for next year and will be in touch!
Best regards,
Kenneth
Dear Pat and Mat: I wanted to personally
thank you for a superb vacation. The
Malinconicos, Ginsbergs and Alyssa and I
could not be more appreciative of all of your
hard work and dedication towards creating
such a wonderful atmosphere. Pat: You are
by far a gourmet chef, Mat, a fantastic
bartender, both you should be considered
captain because first mate status would not be
appropriate. The vessel is beautiful, the
islands are well preserved and a playground
for all of us to hopefully enjoy in the future.
We could not all thank you enough for your
hospitality. We will definitely join you again
next year. Thanks again, Peter
James,
I will send pictures but the boat and crew
now best friends for life are Pat and Mat thus

I mean it and I have traveled a bit in my life,
this was one hell of a top notch setup!!!!!!!!
Give me a call in am so we can catch up!
Jack
In all of the years of traveling the world,
this has been the most wonderful and
memorable of them all. You treated us
like friends and it seemed that always
wanted to do more even though you had
all ready gone beyond any one’s
expectation.
Your presentation of food should be on
the cover of every food magazine. The
quality and taste was better than any five
star restaurant. Pat, you are the top of your
class as a chef.
Both of you made Cathy and I forget the
tough times we are going through right
now. For this, we give you our sincere and
heart felt thanks and appreciation. You
can be assured that all of will come back
so we can feel like royalty once more in
your care.
Once again, we all thank you for this
wonderful and extraordinary unbelievable
week of enjoyment and friendship.
Sincerely,
Cathy & Jason Tom & Linda

As expected, both Pat and Mat were extremely capable in handling and
running the boat. What was most gratifying was their dedication to
making our stay as enjoyable as possible. They did this by carefully
determining what activities we wanted (and did not want), preparing
delicious meals and offering fine beverages that were, in several
instances, customized to our individual preferences. A great example of
this was the meal at which Pat served gazpacho soup: One of us dislikes
tomatoes, I don't like spicy foods and one of us can happily imbibe
molten lava. She accommodated all three tastes. They changed their
itinerary to suit our desires.
They were very patient and struck the perfect balance between being
available and, indeed, very enjoyable company, and knowing when to
leave us alone for family interaction.
The accommodations on the boat were terrific. I would unhesitatingly
and enthusiastically recommend them to any prospective clients of
yours. Anyone contemplating a trip with them is welcome to contact me
for additional details, if desired.
The only caution I would suggest is that Pat is a vicious, phenomenal
Scrabble player.
David ............... and family (cruise of November 2008)
When you arrived, your first impression of the yacht was: Wow! It was bigger than I imagined. So clean and well appointed.
What did you think about your accommodation? Perfect. Many amenities.
Cabins, beds, bathrooms: Great size. Fit our family (2 adults, 4 kids perfectly). Children loved the TV/DVD players in their cabins. Lloyd and I enjoyed the
size of our cabin. We were very comfortable in the king size bed. There was lots of room and we didn’t feel closed in at all.
Salon, cockpit, deck space: Everything was just perfect. It was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Perfect for being catered to and entertained. There were
many different seating areas. Spots to dine or just relax. Large enough that at some points Lloyd and I would look at each other and say, “Where are the
kids?”
Was the boat kept clean during your charter (your cabins, the bathrooms/heads, your towels, bedding, the cockpit, the galley)? Yes.
Did you miss anything on board? No. And if we did, I think our gracious hosts, Mat and Pat, would have found it!
What did you enjoy the most on board? Tough question. First, this was our first time to visit the Caribbean by yacht. So the overall experience of being in
such beautiful waters surrounded by beautiful islands was just awesome. To have this experience sailing on the yacht immersed in the most delicious food
and pampering is a once in a lifetime experience. I liked being on deck just appreciating all this with my family.
Please describe your Captain (professional/outgoing/friendly etc.) Mat and Pat made our trip a delight. Mat was all the characteristics described above and
then some. A true gentleman. From the minute he picked us up in the dinghy, we felt safe and comfortable. His knowledge of the boat and the surrounding
waters and islands was evident. His patience with our children was over and above our expectations. The boys wanted to be pulled by the dinghy on the tube
CONSTANTLY. Matt obliged - over and over again. Never was he impatient or short. He would just ask “Do you want to go around again?” then smile. While
we were snorkeling, one of our girls had brushed against some fire coral. She was obviously in pain and in distress. Swiftly, Mat got us back to the yacht. He
and Pat acted quickly and knew just what first aid to apply and then Matt rushed the two girls and me to the nearest island clinic in the dinghy (almost an hour
away) like a scene out of the movies. Soon after, she was feeling better and we were all grateful to have been with Captain Mat.
What do you think about your itinerary, the places and bays you visited and the activities you have done? The itinerary was fine. We only had 3 full days on
the yacht so we didn’t get to visit all the islands I had hoped to visit. Mat and Pat offered to go anywhere we wanted. We just had to consider travel time. We
made three stops. It was perfect and truly after Megan was stung; we mellowed out for a day. Of course, we enjoyed being docked, playing in the water,
eating, and visiting some close by desolate sandy beach islands.
Please describe your chef (professional/outgoing/friendly etc.) We all enjoyed Pat. What a wonderful, wise, and talented woman. She was friendly,
personable, and calm. I especially enjoyed our late night conversations about work friends, and family. She kept the yacht in great shape. Everything was
shiny and clean.
… And then there was often the great smell of something baking in the oven. Pat is an amazing chef. Every meal was delicious and abundant. We enjoyed
it all. The kids especially liked the mini coffee cake muffins for breakfast. We all enjoyed the M&Ms and pistachios! The food was always tasty and beautifully
presented. It’s hard to imagine she does all that in a galley kitchen.
Do you feel the meals and drinks reflected the requests you made in your preference sheet? Yes.
If you had children in your party, what did the crew do to make their vacation special (food, games, toys, etc)? Mat and Pat were wonderful with the kids.
They had every amenity on the boat that the kids could wish for (DVDs Games, water toys, I pod hook up, snacks, etc.). The food and drinks were abundant and
to their liking. They both were patient, kind and accommodating. For more, see above.
